Appco accomplishes record 'adoptions'

Appco Group Support Australia has aided endangered species by getting in new donors to adopt animals with the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).

During February and early March, Appco Group Support Australia has attained a successful Endangered Species Adoption Campaign for the WWF.

By ‘adopting’ endangered animals, including orangutans, tigers, and pygmy elephants, donors assisted WWF's global efforts to safeguard wild animals and their natural habitats. Donors also received an adoption certificate and a fluffy toy.

Appco Group Support achieved a considerable increase in donor numbers throughout the Endangered Species Adoption Campaign, which started off in Circular Quay in Sydney and King George Square in Brisbane during a week-long screening of the Australian Open Tennis.

Appco Group expects to continue offering animal adoptions as part of its ever-strengthening relationship with the World Wildlife Fund.

Appco Group Support UK meets animals in need

Appco Group made a visit at the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to check how their work is helping the animals

Appco Group Support UK field representatives witnessed directly how their work to get charity donors is making a difference to the lives of lost and abandoned animals.

A recent VIP trip to the Battersea Dogs & Cats Home in London was both an educational and personally satisfying visit for all involved, said Appco Group Support UK Relationship Manager Dominic Lester-George.

“Our field representatives are really passionate about what they do and today got the opportunity to meet some of the furry friends they are helping,” he said.

Appco Group Support, is the world’s largest donor acquisition agency and operates with several charity partners including Battersea Dogs & Cats Home that has been in operation for 150 years, providing care for homeless pets and assisting them with training in an effort to locate new homes.

Appco Group Support UK field representative Chris Gibbs said: “The opportunity to experience behind the scenes operations of the home, coupled with the information provided by the staff was incredibly insightful.

“Working with the trainers to learn, first-hand, how they train the dogs in the home by being paired up with some of the home's current residents was definitely the highlight of the day for me.”

Battersea Dogs & Cats Home Senior Direct Marketing Officer Rachel Samuels said it was a pleasure to have the field representatives at the home.

“They showed the enthusiasm and energy that I'm sure they apply to their work every day,” she said. “It's exciting that we are in a position to show exactly where the money you’re raising goes when you come in for a tour, but to be able to show you part of the groundwork is equally as important.

“...the work, passion and energy that all the Appco fundraisers put into our campaign is amazing. The number of regular givers they have signed up has blown us away and they have far exceeded our expectations.”

Appco Group Support representative visits slums in India

Appco Group Support recently sent its representative, Philip Bresser, to visit slums in Chennai, India. This was to see what difference the company's projects for Street Children, run in lieu of a charity partner, were making.

Philip Bresser was impressed. Says he, “In the Western world we have reached the stage where we are used to the luxuries we have around us or that are so easily accessible. We live in a part of the world where we as individuals are empowered to make choices...I visited the Street Children projects of Anbu Illam in Chennai (Madras) South India. The field visit had a significant impact on me. Probably, because it is as confrontational as it can get.”

He inspected each and every detail of the work done by Appco Group. He adds, about what he has seen and observed, “The things I have heard, seen and smelled in the slums and on the streets are very real. The Street Children projects in Chennai are necessary and really tangible. India is a country with a billion registered people and more than a million children are 'living' in the streets in Chennai. By directly supporting the projects in Chennai, we enable a significant 'extra' amount of children in Chennai to get proper shelter, health care, education and to be treated in a human way. We enable them to get into a position where they can make some choices in life as well, just like we do. The visit to Chennai put things into perspective for me”.

Appco Group is winning appreciation from all quarters for the work that it has been doing to slum children in India.
